1. Is ICFAI University, Jaipur approved by UGC?

A University has to follow a due process in the initial phase for this. After being notified as a University by the Government, the University has to approach UGC for initiating the approval process.

The ICFAI University, Jaipur has recently been notified by the Government of Rajasthan. And now that the University is notified, it will approach UGC in this regard and obtain approval after due inspection, as has been done for other Universities of the ICFAI University Group.

2. Are the Programs offered by ICFAI University Jaipur approved by AICTE?

As per AICTE Act, Universities do not need approvals from AICTE. Only affiliated colleges of Universities need AICTE approvals.

The MBA, B.Tech and BBA programs are offered by ICFAI University, Jaipur. So, they do not require AICTE approval.

3. Does the University offer any fee concession to domicile students of Rajasthan?

Yes. The University offers fee concession to the domicile students of Rajasthan. Please refer to the prospectus for more details.

4. Is a student graduating from ICFAI University, Jaipur eligible for Government jobs?

Yes. A student graduating from ICFAI University, Jaipur is eligible for Government jobs.

5. Does the Icfai University Jaipur have its own campus?

Yes. The University campus is located at Jamdoli, Jaipur and is spread over 40 acres of land. It has 2 lakhs sq. ft. built-up area with academic blocks and class rooms which are well-equipped with latest audio-visual equipments and there are facilities for well equipped library, labs and computer center.

6.Does the University have qualified and trained faculty?

The University plays a significant role in ensuring quality education through an interactive teaching methodology by its experienced and trained faculty. 7. Does the University provide hostel facilities?

No, the University does not provide hostel facilities. The University is very close to the city of Jaipur. Students can find accomodation around the campus.

8. Is there facility of transportation (to and fro) arranged by the University for the University Campus from the city?

Yes, the University will provide transportation for students on fixed timings. The students have to pay separately for availing this facility.

9.What are the courses presently offered by the University?

The University offers the following full-time programs at Jaipur, Rajasthan.

PG Program : MBA (2 years).

UG Programs : BBA (3 years) and B. Tech. (4 years).

10.If I do an Undergraduate program from ICFAI University, Jaipur, can I apply for admission for a master’s degree program in a Foreign University?

Yes. Admission into a Masters degree in a foreign University requires a student to complete his graduation from a University.

ICFAI University, Jaipur, a statutory University, awards a degree to the student upon completion and this makes him/her eligible.

11. Is there facility of Canteen for the students in the campus?

Yes. The University will make the arrangements for providing a canteen facility to the students.

12.Can the students avail loan from banks for the programs offered by the University to fund their education?

Yes. Several public and private sector banks provide educational loans to the students. Applicants seeking educational loans may approach banks in their respective cities/towns for availing the loans.

13. What is the level of Practical Laboratories, Library, IT lab etc. in the University campus?

The University campus has a library which is well stocked with books in relevant subjects to facilitate extensive knowledge. It also subsribes to journals and magazines to help keep abreast with current needs of global businesses.

It has well equipped workshops with various machine tools for B. Tech. students and computer laboratories with latest software and hardware providing hands-on training.

Eligibility and Admission Process - B.Tech. Program

1. What is the eligibility criteria for the B. Tech. program offered by the University ?

The eligibility criteria for the B. Tech. Program offered by ICFAI University, Jaipur is 50% aggregate and above in 12th class examination or its equivalent with pass in each of Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and English subjects. The applicant should fulfill the minimum age requirements as prescribed by the respective board through which the applicant has appeared for the qualifying examination.

2. When will the selection result be declared?

Declaration of the list of selected candidates and dispatch of selection letters will be from July 18, 2011 onwards.

3. Where do I get application forms for applying to the B.Tech Program?

4. What is the fee structure for the B. Tech. Program offered by the University?

Admission Fee of Rs. 20,000 for the B. Tech. Program is to be paid by all selected candidates on or before August 06, 2011.

The Program Fee is Rs. 27,500 per semester for domicile students and Rs. 32,500 per semester for non-domicile students.

Students should pay the fee for all eight semesters, as per the due dates indicated in the Student Handbook.

The first semester program fee is payable on or before August 06, 2011.

Students are required to contribute Rs. 15,000 to the Campus Activity Fund, which is to be made in two instalments of Rs. 7,500 each, along with the first and second semester fee.

All students are required to pay a refundable caution deposit of Rs. 10,000 along with the first semester fee.

Students are required to pay Alumni Association Membership Fee of Rs. 10,000, payable along with the eighth semester fee.

BBA Program

1. Does the BBA Program have AICTE approval?

As per AICTE Act, Universities do not need approvals from AICTE. Only affiliated colleges of Universities need AICTE approvals.

The BBA program is offered directly by ICFAI University, Jaipur. So, it does not require AICTE approval. Further, BBA programs do not require AICTE approval.

2. Is it mandatory to attend the Internship Program?

Yes. The Internship Program is an integral part of the program.

3. Are students who have passed BBA from ICFAI University, eligible to pursue further studies like MBA in India and Abroad?

Yes. As the students are awarded BBA degree from ICFAI University, a duly notified statutory University by the Government of Rajasthan, they can pursue further education in India and abroad.

MBA Program

1. Does the MBA Program by ICFAI University Jaipur have AICTE approval?

As per AICTE Act, Universities do not need approval from AICTE. Only affiliated colleges of Universities need AICTE approval.

The MBA program is offered directly by ICFAI University, Jaipur. So, it does not require AICTE approval.

2. How many specializations are available in the MBA Program ?

The University offers specializations by way of 8 Elective Streams. The students can choose electives in Marketing, HRM, Finance, Banking, Investments, Insurance, Accounting and IT & Systems.

3. Can an MBA student opt for dual specialization? If Yes, then How?

Yes. The students can opt for dual specializtion. The MBA Program has the option of electives in Marketing, HRM, Finance, Banking, Investments, Insurance, Accounting and IT & Systems. Students will have the flexibility in choosing more than one course from these elective streams.

Elective courses will be offered subject to a minimum number of students enrolling for a particular elective course and availability of faculty. Refer prospectus for details of elective courses.

4. What is the benefit of Summer Internship Program?

SIP (Summer Internship Program) is a vital component of the overall learning experience which the students benefit at ICFAI University Jaipur, in addition to the academic inputs delivered at the classroom. The SIP enables the students to -

  • get exposed to various industries for hands on experience in subject related areas.
  • practically apply the principles of management in the market place.
  • obtain on-the-job experience and practical exposure to a corporate environment.

5. How is the performance of the student assessed in the MBA Program?

In the MBA Program, performance of the student is assessed through a continuous evaluation process throughout the period of study. Students are evaluated on the basis of class participation, home assignments, case analysis, seminars, projects, tests, etc.

6. What kind of placement support is the student provided?

  • The training and Placement wing at the University will look after the training and placement activities on a full time and continuous basis. Utmost importance will be given to placement-related activities to ensure that all the students secure suitable placements.
  • The Placement Managers of the University will be responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with reputed organizations, assessing requirements and organizing recruitments for students on an on-going basis.
  • The University will organize training and counseling sessions for students to improve their knowledge, skills and attitude and thus develop exposure.

Eligibility and Admission Process - MBA Program

1. What is the selection process for enrolling into the MBA Program?

The selection process into the MBA Program is based on merit. The application and interview are used as basis for assessment and due weightage is given to academic distinction, awards in sports/cultural events, debates, quizzes and other extra and co-curricular activities.

2. What is the eligibility criteria for enrolling into MBA Program?

Graduates in any discipline with 45% and above aggregate marks are eligible.

3. Is a student pursuing final year eligible for MBA Program?

Yes. Final year Degree students awaiting results can also apply for the program. However, they should submit their final year results by September 30, 2011.

4. Where is the interview held?

The interview will be held at the University Campus at Jaipur.

5. When will the selection result be declared?

Admission decision will be declared from July 11, 2011 onwards.

6. What is the fee structure for the MBA Program offered by the University?

Admission Fee of Rs. 20,000 for the MBA Program is to be paid by all selected candidates immediately after the admission decision is announced.

The Program Fee includes Tuition Fee, Campus Activity Fund, Alumni Membership Fee and excludes the Admission fee.

Students are required to pay the fee at the beginning of the semester.

The fee payable per semester is Rs. 70,000 for domicile students and Rs. 80,000 for non-domicile students.

All students are required to pay a refundable caution deposit of Rs. 10,000 along with the first semester fee.

B.Tech. Program

The B. Tech. program is offered directly by ICFAI University, Jaipur. So, it does not require AICTE approval.

2. What are the various streams offered in the engineering program?

B.Tech Program is offered in 4 branches. (Civil Engineering, Computer Science & Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering and Mechanical Engineering).

3. How many specializations are offered in each branch of B.Tech Program and how many do the students need to choose?

Specializations are offered after the fourth semester. In Fifth and Sixth Semesters, eight specialized discipline courses (SDC) are offered and the student has to study all the eight. In the Seventh semester electives are offered (list is given in the Prospectus). The student has to choose six electives from that list.

Elective courses will be offered subject to a minimum number of students enrolling for a particular elective course and availability of faculty.

1. What is the eligibility criteria for the BBA program offered by the University ?

The eligibility criteria for the BBA Program offered by ICFAI University, Jaipur is pass in 10+2 with aggregate 50% and above in any discipline. Final year 10+2 students awaiting results can also apply. Final year students of 10+2 who have not received the original certificates from the Board by August 01, 2011 will be admitted provissionally. Their admission will be confirmed subject to their passing the qualifying examination and obtaining minimum 50% marks.

2. When will the selection result be declared?

Declaration of the list of selected candidates and dispatch of selection letters will be from July 18, 2011 onwards.
